A mini industrial visit was conducted on 28th September 2019 to AUTOMATION EXPO-2019 Bombay Exhibition Center-BEC, Goregaon (East), Mumbai. The students were introduced to the technologies used over there such as SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), different controllers, sensors and transmitters work. Also they learned how internal circuitry works in different kits. Students learned different aspects of corporate world, technical and non-technical. Great knowledge session, knowledge transfer took place from both sides. Different processes and machinery were seen live and working projects were displayed.

“Mini/Minor Project Exhibition 2019-20” was organized on 8th October 2019 to provide the students of Electronics Engineering a platform to display innovative projects made by them. These projects were based on an array of domains ranging from Industrial Automation and Control, Electronic Circuits System Design, Signal Processing and Communication, Embedded Systems & Computing, etc. There was hundred percent participation and impressive projects were exhibited. Projects were also being judged upon various parameters such as innovation, project development etc. by the judges. Depending upon the evaluation of the judges, the best projects were declared as winners.

4. Educational Excursion

Educational Excursion was organized for the second- and third-year electronics engineering students. The main objective of the IV was to prepare students for successful career in the industry, by identifying the gaps between the curriculum and industry requirement. Visiting companies like HIMALAYA DRUG COMPANY DEHRADUN and VERKA DAIRY PLANT AMRITSAR was a very good opportunity for students to see how various products are manufactured. As the students were made to live together throughout the trip and made to interact, they developed a sense of unity and compatibility amongst them. Students started thinking that the processes and other fact that they study are much lagging with current scenario, and they need to enhance their cone of learning and seeing the world.

5. Smart India Hackathon 2020

Smart India Hackathon was conducted on 17th January 2020. The main aim of the event was to introduce students to Smart India Hackathon competition. The Seminar began with an introduction of the problem statements chosen by the participants, and then the participants gave their solutions to the problems and ways to apply those solutions in practical world. Students were given suggestions, inputs and advice from mentors as well as students of the other groups, which helped them to improve their product and present it in an effective manner.

6. Technical Seminar on Data Science

The seminar on “Data Science” was conducted on 24th January 2020 for T.E ELEX students. Data Science is a blend of various tools, algorithms, and machine learning principles with the goal to discover hidden patterns from the raw data. The main objective of this seminar was to develop an interest and inclination among the students towards the Data Science. Students were being explained about the various job opportunities and packages related to this specialization, various applications at industry level, etc. Students showed great interest in this session making it a huge success.

The IETE committee organized a workshop ‘ANDROIDBOTIX’, on 26th of February 2020, as part of MULTICON. The 2-day workshop was conducted with two sessions each day- theory and practical. In theory session the students learnt about the basics of Embedded System, Raspberry pi board-its different models and specifications. In practical session students got their kits to perform various programs. At the end, a competition was held to check their knowledge based on sessions. The main motive of the workshop was to equip students with skills to use Raspberry Pi board and to provide hands-on session so that the students can understand the use of R-Pi board.

The Thakur College of Engineering and Technology (TCET) Mumbai, under ‘E-TECHNOFEST’, organized 3 online competitions- “PCB Designing” on 08th June 2020, “Quiz on Circuit Theory” on 09th June 2020, and “Artsthhetic - A Poster Designing Competition” on 09th June 2020. . In, PCB designing competition the participants made their layout using preferred software and submitted it to the organizers in PDF format. Quiz on circuit theory was conducted through Google Forms and using other plugins to ensure that no participant looks for answers online. Artsthhetic competition was held online where the participants had to share their hand made posters through a document and submit it to the organizers. By following all the required guidelines and completing the posters before the time limit specified, the participants successfully completed their work.
